The Course Under Scrutiny...

The Azle Lake Run 20K course certification has hit a rain delay. The course route is set, and only the turnaround point on Park St. is the only thing that hopefully will change. If anyone has seen me measuring the course, I am using my daughter's bike since the mileage counter will not fit on my bike. I hope Sunday the 30th to get final measurement riding the 20k course 1 last time. Laying out the races I tried to stick to two objectives, 1 keep the lake in view as much as possible, and 2 keep north and south to maximize shade. This has resulted in a challenging course with hill climbs and traversing both new and old neighborhoods on peninsula that separates Walnut Creek and Ash Creek. I hope everyone comes out for this event and if you are not running please don't hesitate to get involved by volunteering. We need course monitors, water dispensers, awards ceremony, and if you don't feel one of these suits you, use the volunteer tab on the web site to let us know what you can accomplice. Let's run Azle Thank you, Terry |
